NEWS FROM OUR PRESIDENT MELISSA AUSTIN

Just a reminder, our 6th Annual Yard Sale will be held Labor Day Weekend. A Yard Sale Committee has been set up to help coordinate this huge endeavor. The Yard Sale Committee members are as follows: Les Snell, Bob Knowlan, Charlie Snell, John McCarthy and Melissa Austin. Please contact one of us if you have any gently used items to donate.

Les updated the club on how things are going with the Yard Sale at our last meeting. Steve and Mary White are very generously lending us the use of their canopies for our sale. We are in hopes of having everything under cover this year. If you see Steve or Mary, please say thanks.
We will be setting up tables and trucking items in from outlying storage areas starting at 9:00 am on the 2nd of September. We can use all the help we can get from then until after we break down on the 8th, as this is a lot of work for just a few to handle. Let’s share the load! Someone will be at the Pratt’s from 9:00 am until?? each day.

Work Party Schedule- Knowing this is a busy time of year with the Yard Sale, Fairs and the start of School we do not have any dates set up for a work party next month. However, if you are interested in helping improve our trails, please contact Joe. His phone numbers are: 207-684-3235 or 207-778-1951.

Club Rides- We’re open for suggestions. If any of you have a place you’d like to ride, we’d like to hear about it.

August 29th. John Liddell notified the club that the Moose Alley Riders ATV Club is going to be having a Trail Ride from the Forks to Greenville. If you would like to go, meet them at the Forks at 9:00 am. They should be back to the Forks by 5:00 pm.

September 6th. Sunday. Leave Bingham at 9:00 am for a ride to Abbot. 100 miles round trip. Lunch in Abbot or bring your own.

September 13th. Meet at Hutch’s Bridge at 9:00 am for a local club ride.

September 19th. Saturday. Meet at McDonalds in Farmington. Ride to Salem General Store. Leaving from Temple at 9:30 am.

September 26th. Meet at Hutch’s Bridge at 9:00 am for a Club Ride. Destination unknown. Call Joe with any ideas or suggestions. His numbers are 684-3235 or 778-1951.

October 11th. Lucky and Roberta Hupper’s Annual Fall Ride and Bar-B-Que has been set for Sunday at 9:30 am in Anson. This will be a potluck lunch so be sure to bring a goodie or some kind. Everyone that attends always has a great time. A reminder with directions will be listed in the September Newsletter so please stay tuned.

Don’t forget to pack your lunch for all of our Club Rides. Bring your goggles, fly dope etc. Please contact Joe Burnham if you have any questions about the rides.

Bottle Drive- We are up to $1009.00 so far this year. Last year at this time we were at $1129.00, so we are a little behind this year. As always-keep collecting and bring your cans and bottles to the meetings. Les’ truck will be there for the collection.

Meeting Reminder- Our next Club Meeting will be on Thursday September 3rd at the Strong Legion Hall with a Pot Luck Supper at 6:00 pm and the meeting following at 7:00 pm. As always there will be a great meal and a chance to socialize with other club members. If you have anything you would like to have discussed at the meeting, please let me know.
